IDR is seeking a COBOL Developer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role supports a critical state government project focused on automated client eligibility systems, leveraging mainframe technologies in a fully remote environment. The company specializes in public sector IT solutions and digital transformation for government agencies.
Position Overview for the COBOL Developer:
- Support the State of Washington's ACES project, focusing on Medicaid and eligibility systems
- Develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs and CICS transactions
- Optimize DB2 queries and stored procedures to ensure system performance
- Create and manage JCL scripts for batch processing and automation tasks
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business teams to deliver reliable solutions
Requirements for the COBOL Developer:
- Advanced proficiency in COBOL coding, debugging, and performance optimization (8+ years)
- Prior experience supporting a State Medicaid/Eligibility project
- Strong knowledge of CICS online transaction processing and system integration
- Advanced skills in DB2 database development, query optimization, and data management
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining JCL scripts for batch jobs
